Cooking Fun
Students are making a pot of soup. They are working together to cut up all the fresh vegetables. The soup was delicious and it is a great way to practice our math skills!

The Memory Game
Students can choose the units, tens or hundreds box. They can work alone or in a small group. Each student chooses a number card and goes into the classroom to find the correct number of objects to correlate with the number card. We use the beads once the student is working on the tens and hundred cards. If working in a group, the other students will try and guess what the number card is based on the objects that have been laid on the rug.

Teen Hanger Bar
Students work on teen numbers 11-19 using ten bead bars, colored unit beads, and corresponding number tiles. This has become one of their favorite exercises to work on.

Cards and Counters
This material is wonderful in helping the child work on several skills. Left to right, correct sequencing of numbers, 1 to 1 correlation, and pairing of counters which eventually leads into odd and even recognition.

Skip Counting
This child is working on her counting skills. Students can choose a short or long chain. For instance, this child is working on the short chain of 5. She lays out the arrows along with the correlated bead. Once the arrows are laid out correctly the student can then stamp out the chain and write down the numbers. This work takes concentration and focus.

Sandpaper Number Tracing
This great exercise helps the child work on number recognition and practice correct form.
